Christmas 2021 and New Year Newsletter

2021 has sadly turned out to be a  horrible Year for so many.   Luckily December is here, and let us pray 2022 is a safer, happier, and prosperous year for people of all nations and religions. A special distance hug of warmth to all our Shadowlight Publishing loyal followers and our supportive close friends and family; we wish you all a loving, secure, and safe Holiday Season.

We all celebrate this time of the Year many different ways; here in Australia, it is a traditional hot Summer Christmas. Not the Christmas Lord R.e.Taylor remembers in Pennsylvania. He certainly misses the snow and all the beauty of a white Christmas.

Here in Australia, the heat can be intense, so often a summer of contrasting weather heat, rain fires, or floods. Still, we survive and overcome so many obstacles. In our Supermarkets Tacky decorations, and then in complete contrast Shopping Malls, providing incredible holiday nd selling Christmas decorations in early October, so that by December one scrambles for what is left to decorate the house. Gifts and treats so widely advertised that are no longer available by early December.

I fondly remember past Christmas Day celebrations with my dear parents, where our paper Christmas hats became soaking wet, and no air conditioning existed.

Luckily for Rob, we have air conditioning everywhere, but he finds it weird to go to the beach instead of digging his car out of the snow.

Many Australians still celebrate with traditional Christmas dinner, but times are changing, and now it is also trendy to have a barbie or prawns and a beer at the beach.

It is remarkable to think that no matter our religion or what country we live in at this time of the Year, we all get together with family and friends. Covid may have changed our lives in so many ways, but the love of family and friends can unite us all in this time of unexpected adversity.

This Year, we offer our deepest sympathy for those who have lost loved ones worldwide due to Covid. No doubt, once again, it has been a year to forget for so many of us, families unable to be together, businesses destroyed, and prices are rising sky high. It will never be the world we used to know, but we are here, and we have survived.

To all in America who have suffered unbelievable devastation due to the tornados destroying all you own, we weep with you and pray for better times ahead and the strength for you all to pick up the pieces and start again. Easy to say, of course, so many miles away! I wrote a song about loss at the end of my Musical” Just by Bloomie’s” The central verse goes:
\
“Such sadness such pain an aching, crying heart, a striving a needing, a playing a part, loneliness beyond compare, and desperate crying despair. A trying to survive, a staying alive, a standing up to face whatever life sends, an ending, a beginning a longing for a friend, a friend, a friend.

It then repeats the chorus (which is so appropriate for so many of us at this time!) “Let me live, let me live, let me start again, happy, happy, lighthearted and free, so thankful we’re here and knowing, we’re alive, We’re alive, WE’RE ALIVE.”

(I did change the wording in the chorus a little to fit the times.)

Have the best Holiday Season you can, dear friends?
May 2022 be a much better year! We sure do need it!
PEACE ON EARTH with the unexpected new addition. STAY SAFE!

Love to All
Liz and Rob

As I constantly say in my Newsletters, I cannot keep pace with time anymore! I wonder if you are all feeling the same. I marvel at how Lord R.e.Taylor can do all the things he does on the Internet and write books and a daily poem and interact constantly with family and friends. Mind you I have never been a housewife before Parts of it like the garden I love, but repetitive cleaning, cooking, and managing accounts and health I find a total bore. My hats off to all who constantly do these chores.

I suppose that is why I am a writer, as I like change writing or editing stories is so fulfilling and of course working on music sends me into a real whirl of happiness, and so does working with Rob on all our projects! Cooking should offer the same stimulus, I adore watching cooking shows, or eating some of the great cakes Lord. R.e.Taylor invents, mind you the cleaning up after he has finished is not the best treat but his cakes sure are! He made Brownies the other day with added raisins etc. and they were to die for!

Health wise we have both been in a bit of a stew lately, but we are now both back on track and once again the joy of creativity is surging forth.  Rob is working on a short new story as I speak, and I have decided to do all within my power to find funding and support for my Musical ‘Charlie Cinderfella’. If you go to our web page and look at the Menu on the right, halfway down, you will see the name “Charlie Cinderfella” click on it and you will be taken to the page, and if you have the time listen to four on the songs from the show and read the synopsis. I have written a Broadway Musical ‘Just by Bloomie’s’, and another Australian Musical, ‘The Gold Coast International’.

For now, I have decided to work on Charlie, as it is fun and has a good message for all those with dreams and aspirations, and I know the music has loads of potential. I pray people will leave the theatre feeling truly uplifted.

I also need to possibly talk to an animation producer, as I think ‘Charlie Cinderfella’ could work very well as an animated television film. If you can spare the time your opinions on what you hear and read would be greatly appreciated. I have just finished a tightened-up re-write. I have already paid to record eight songs, and still have many more to do.  I once worked with Shirley Bassey’s Musical Director Arthur Greenslade on several songs from my Musical ‘Just by Bloomie’s’. What I wouldn’t give to work with him now on ‘Charlie Cinderfella’, but alas he is no longer here. So, I am now looking for a partner to write and share the rest of the music with, all lyrics are completed and the rest of the melodies in my head, waiting for that special someone. Who will soar with me to the mountaintop and make this dream come ALIVE!

I also strongly feel R.e.Taylor’s, ‘Aussie Yarns and Australian Legendary Folklore, would also make an incredible television series. His stories are unique in every book he writes but being an Australian I sure love this one! Mine name is on it but that is not really deserved it is all totally Rob’s incredible imagination, and I now also think with hindsight the title should have been much shorter!  It is also available as an eBook so do take a decko (Aussie term for look) and you will be incredibly pleased you did! A review on Amazon would also be greatly appreciated!

Well once again I had planned to keep this short, but I do no think short exists in my vocabulary.

We, so pray all of you are surviving this Corona Virus changing world, it is scary how it has affected all our lives. Please stay safe and let us move forward with love and compassion realizing all that is good in this world and think for ourselves and not be indoctrinated with how others want us to think. I do believe if given the chance the pen is mightier than the sword, that is if we are not held captive by survival and the almighty dollar!

STAY SAFE Love Lizzie W and Lord R.e.Taylor.
